Security audits of protocols built on zero-knowledge proofs, multi-party computation, and fully homomorphic encryption, and research on protocol security and vulnerability detection, including AI-based vulnerability detection. Clients include Tachyon (Zcash), the Ethereum Foundation, Commonware, Aleo, Solana, Aptos Labs, and Mysten Labs (Sui).

Research on the security of production zero-knowledge systems and on LLMs for security, including LLM-based vulnerability detection and auditing of cryptographic software.

Computational Economics and Finance. Lead the Distributed Ledger Technologies Seminar and co-teach Blockchain Technologies; co-supervise PhD students and have supervised 9 BSc and MSc theses; co-wrote the proposal for the UKFin-funded TRACE project.

Migration of applications from EVM chains to zkSync Era, trade-offs between EVM compatibility and equivalence, and formalising how rollups are secured by their L1, which led to "Towards a Formal Foundation for Blockchain Rollups" (CCS 2025).

Security tools for smart contracts and zero-knowledge circuits, including a ZK circuit fuzzer combining dynamic analysis, SMT solving, and static analysis, used in audits of protocols such as Scroll's zkEVM. Part time from January 2023.

FASTEN European research project: static-analysis call graphs for the whole Debian ecosystem and a framework for security, risk, licence-compliance, and change-impact analyses. Also research in web security, programming languages, and software testing.

PANORAMIX European research project: made the Zeus e-voting platform modular with respect to its cryptosystem and integrated two mix networks.
